SOCALPAPA Finds Home Gallery

Southern California Plein Air Painters Association is pleased to announce the establishment of their first art gallery in Newport Beach. Designed as a permanent home to showcase their members' work, the new space is
in partnership with the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum, and will be housed within their Balboa Fun-Zone Boardwalk location.

"The ART GALLERY – SOCALPAPA" will have its Grand Opening Saturday,
February 6th at 4:00 PM, with its premiere show to feature over twenty award-winning
artists from prior Club competitions. The evening reception's highlight will be a raffle for
three donated paintings by prominent artist-members Jim Wodark, Jack Wang and Richard
Rice. Raffle prizes donated from local area businesses will also be given away. Tickets will
be sold prior to the opening and during the festivities to help raise funds for the renovation
and operation of the gallery. All paintings on display will be for sale, with a portion of the
proceeds going to support the museum.

The gallery continues the SOCALPAPA and NHNM beneficial relationship, and will be
the site of the Association's ongoing juried, themed competitions – a wonderful
environment for all SOCALPAPA artists to have an opportunity to show their work to the
public. The opening show will continue through March 29th, followed by the Association's
annual Miniature Works competition.
